Harvard University Muslim Alumni (HUMA) was founded in 2004 to
serve as a network for Muslim alumni of the various schools of Harvard. It exists to allow members to connect more
easily with one another and with Harvard.
In addition to providing a social forum for Muslim Harvard
graduates and faculty, HUMA’s goals include:
- cooperating
with the Harvard Islamic Society and other Muslim student organizations
at Harvard to create more resources at Harvard for Muslims, including
providing financial and other forms of support;
- promoting
a positive image of Islam and Muslims.
In line with this objective, HUMA will strive to create more
resources at Harvard for those interested in Islam, working with the
University to promote scholarship on Islam and Muslim societies; and
- supporting
the human right of Muslims to obtain high-quality educations, working
with young Muslims to encourage them to apply to Harvard.
